Three ways to boost your stress-immunity today!


Building resilience to stress is fundamental in today's fast-paced society! With our to-do lists ever-growing, our lives becoming more complex, and our desire to achieve and succeed often leaving us worn-out and depleted; it is imperative that we find the time to nourish our physical and emotional selves, in order to remain healthy in body and mind.


On January 11, we're partnering with Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Justyna Zarzeczny, to help you BUILD THE ROAD TO RESILIENCE. If you often feel overwhelmed, out-of-balance, or simply desire to feel more flexible and connected, then this workshop is for you! 
 
Today, we're sharing three ways to boost your stress-immunity; through plant medicine, human connection and exercise.
 

  1. INCORPORATE ADAPTOGENS INTO YOUR DAILY RITUAL

Adaptogens are a class of herbs and mushrooms that offer heavy-duty support for the body's natural resistance to 'adverse influences'. Adverse influences include anything that taxes the body – from illness and disease; to straight-up stress! Adaptogens help to tonify the body, and bring it back to 'homoeostasis'; or simply, a state of balance.


There are many adaptogens, and their specific healing properties differ. Ashwagandha, for example, helps to calm the body and soothe the adrenals. Well-known mushroom reishi is known to exert subtle, but powerful immune-boosting qualities. There is a wealth of information and scientific-research about these medicinal botanicals available online.


At Nectar, our favourite way to incorporate adaptogens into our daily ritual is with an elixir of nut milk, raw honey, unrefined coconut oil, and our chosen adaptogen(s). You could also add a spoonful into your morning oatmeal, take a tonic tea before bed, or infuse soups and broths with adaptogenic mushrooms, like reishi and chaga.
 

  1. CULTIVATE A NETWORK OF SUPPORT

Becoming stress-resilient, means discovering the ways to find ease, purpose, and fulfilment, even in the most difficult times. Finding your tribe, cultivating a network of support and knowing that you're a part of a community that relies on you, is one of the most effective ways to do this.
Carve out the time to be with your family. Join a yoga community. Set a weekly date-night with your loved one. Get to know your colleagues on a deeper, more personal level. Reach out to an old friend.

There are infinite ways to find solace and grace through connection with others. Let this be an opportunity for you to become a more responsible, social and compassionate human being, while simultaneously strengthening your stress-resilience as an individual.
 

  1. BUILD PHYSICAL VITALITY AND VIGOUR

When you become physically fit and strong, you become physically more able to face adversity and overcome stressful situations. You begin to thrive on the fuel that is life; letting everything that happens to you become the seed for mastery and evolution.


Incorporate a daily movement practice that is versatile, challenging and incorporates strength-training, flexibility and endurance exercise.

 

Building the road to resilience takes thought, courage, and ongoing, intentional action; but the result is a more grounded and joyful existence.
